Christian Distinctiveness

Collective Worship

We believe that our school, underpinned by Christian values, is a wonderful place to grow, with the teachings of Jesus at the very heart of all we say and do. It is an exciting and loving community in which to learn. Garston Church of England Primary School is a happy and thriving school at the heart of a vibrant community. We are a school which offers a real commitment to developing your child as an individual, providing a creative and exciting curriculum that encourages all children to fulfil their potential and develop a lifelong love of learning.

We ensure our children grow up to understand the Christian core values of Excellence, Endurance, Trust, Friendship and Wisdom. Our Christian foundation underpins all that we do. We pride ourselves in our inclusive culture, our celebration of individual talents, skills and achievements, our excellent standards of behaviour and firm commitment to providing the highest quality of education for our children. We believe that this can only be achieved through a close and trusting relationship between home and school. Working together we can ensure that your child receives the very best opportunities for a successful future.

We come together to worship daily . In these sessions we look at our Trust Values and British Values, linking to the teachings from the Bible. We also worship through singing and celebrate the successes of our peers.

Values

At Garston Church Of England we have 5 school values: friendship, trust, excellence, endurance and wisdom. We have linked each value to biblical teaching. Through biblical stories and quotes. Please see the value posters in the attached documents for further information.

St Michael's Church

We are proud of our links with our local parish, St Michael's Church. Rev. Ally visits school each week to lead worship and Ally and her team lead our weekly family  'belong' worship every Wednesday. As a school we attend church three times a year for our Christmas, Easter and Leavers services. In addition, year groups rotate every month to lead a section of the Sunday Family service at St Michael's church and our ethos team lead readings.

Belong

Each Wednesday during school term time, we will be meeting in the hall at 3:30pm for a Belong service with our wider school community. This will be a short service to enjoy songs, stories and Bible verses, and to reflect on the week. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in.
