Attendance
Attendance at Garston Church of England Primary
We are pleased to announce that in December 2021 we were awarded, the GOLD Liverpool Attendance Quality Mark. This recognises the school’s commitment to promoting good attendance, recognising that this is central to raising children’s attainment. We were pleased that the assessors recognsied our commitment to raising attendance and commented on the positive ethos the school had created and how we worked in partnership with parents to provide the right level of support and challenge.
We have a range of incentives to promote the importance of attendance. We hold regular ‘Golden Attendance Weeks’ and weekly attendance discos to celebrate the class with the highest weekly attendance. Each term, we celebrate children with the most improved attendance and punctuality.
We aim for 100% attendance wherever possible. We celebrate classes with 100% attendance and share this achievement with parents and a school community on Twitter and our school blog.
If your child is unable to attend school, please telephone the school office by 8.30 am on the first day of absence. If attendance falls below our expected 97%, parents may receive a letter or be invited in to discuss attendance with a member of the school’s leadership team so we can work together to make improvements. Please see our policies below for more information.
